playa negra costa rica

It wouldnt be right for this place not to have surf the week that we are leaving for costa rica we leave thursday night to catch a plane out of orlando and are staying in playa negra for 11 days and there will be surf here for the first three days that im gone (just my luck). Im stoked that there will be plenty of surf for you guys while im gone but it kinda sucks because theres no wave like the one at home and i very rarely miss any wave action on the gulf coast. Tom Woody tireman mayhem oldbj and who ever is interested we need to plan a trip together to some place warm and wavey. This trip to costa rica is in just about anybodys budget if we can all find the same time to take off. Theres 5 of us staying just off the beach in playa negra and we got round trip plane tickects for 300$ a 4wheel drive for 11 days for 650$ and the house which is a little to nice for me to be staying in for 1500$ so thats about 500$ a piece for almost 2 weeks in costa. waves for the time there are head to 3ft+ overhead with water temps in the upper 70s. Pure Vida and hope to see yall in the line up when we get back. Some one will have to send me directions on how to download pics to the forum because i have no clue.

Negra can be very good. This was from our trip on '07. Oh and it is pura vida. Have a great trip, but be careful. If Negra gets to be too much check out Avellanas, it is usually a little smaller.

Awesome guys! You better freakin take and send us some pix David. I hope you catch it at it's perfection. When you pull into the green room for the first time you better hoot and hollar and if you feel real good throw a shaka up for your D.I. boys back at home still dealing with cold water and wetsuits! :thumu:

awesome man! theres a dude who takes pictures of everone surfing playa negra in the mornings, he'll charge you but its worth it to have professional pics! I wish I would have gone to costa instead of puerto rico because i probably would have saved a ton. well rip a few up for me!

Hope you guys catch it. You have so many options on places to surf in that area. It will be a while before I can go down again. Two young kids 2 and 1. I did a similar trip with some friends while the wife was pregnant, I guess I got lucky. The next trip she'll be going (costs more). Can't wait to go. Take some pics for us stuck here.
